I am absolutely fuming from this beat - not because the other guy played it wrong, as he played it 100% correctly, but for the fact it is such a sick beat that it is probably more likely I would win the lottery than have this outcome.
Anyway, apart from the obvious that I should have got my money in sooner, is there any way I could have avoided this beat and what would you have done in the same situation?
This was on Labrokes and unfortunately for me I was not at a bad beat table - the bonus would have been $83,300!

The guy I was playing against generally wasn't playing junk. If he raised preflop, and it was re-raised quite a bit back to him, he would fold if he didn't have much. (he did so against me a couple of hands earlier when I had 10,10) He was also quite easy to bluff, so I had a reasonable enough read on him to have been able to fold the Aces, even if I'd hit trips, if he was betting strongly enough. He also had a pretty good read on me, so I was trying to let him think I had K,K or Q,Q and that I was afraid of the Ace, therefore allowing him to bluff uncharacteristically or be able to not worry too much about the aces on the board.
I was 99% sure he had a flush or was drawing to the flush after the turn, hence why I was happy for him to make his move before I did mine. After the river, I'll be completely honest with you, I did not see the possibility for the Royal Flush and even if I did, I wouldn't have put him on it as K,10 suited is a pretty crappy hand to call a €40 re-raise pre-flop at the limits we were playing at. I had him on either a Full House or flush after the river and it wasn't until I saw the chips go his way that I realised I'd lost.
Just out of curiosity, what is the worst beat of all time? Or is it pretty much the same cards, just the hand playing out differently? (surely there's more of a chance losing to a higher straight flush, than 4oak losing to RF?)

I know it's not the worst bad beat ever - I've had much worse and for a lot more (I re-reraised all in for $1400 with K,K preflop, I was up against A,9 o/s and the other guy ended up hitting a runner runner for a flush on his 9) I was just wondering if this is the worst possible beat you can get in terms of 4 aces losing to a Royal Flush, where both players use both their hole cards? I know a straight flush losing to a higher one would suck quite a bit, but if the board was like 6,7,8 all suited surely there's more of a chance that one person could have the 4,5 & another has the 9,10, than the way my hand panned out with the Aces against RF? I could be talking absolute rubbish here, but although it is statistically harder to get a straight flush compared to 4oak, I feel that it is actually harder to have 4oak & SF (or RF) in the same hand than have 2 SF's?

I think you did ok.
I would probably bet the turn especially if you have a read that he only really fires when he has something. That villain doesn't seem like the spaz bluffy type.
I'd bet small, give him enticing odds to come along. For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.
I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.
