Live game $1/$2:
UTG limps
MP ($150) raises to $5
Button calls
SB/Hero [Qd,Qs] calls
BB calls
UTG calls
I just called here because MP's small raise was super suspicious and his 1st in about an hour of play. He seemed fairly inexperienced and was a pretty standard limp & call fish preflop. Against this type of ultra passive player from this position I'd normally have them on JJ+ and maybe AK here although they normally put in a decent raise with QQ,JJ and AK so I'm leaning towards the upper end of that range and I'm not looking forward to playing any flop that doesn't contain a Q.
Flop - ($22) [8c,5s,3c]
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG checks, MP bets $15, Button folds, Hero calls, BB folds, UTG folds.
Turn - ($50) [9h]
Hero checks, MP bets $30, Hero calls
River - ($110) [2c]
Hero checks, MP checks and takes it down with AA.
So I got off fairly lightly here thanks to the 3rd club on the river slowing down MP as he would have probably put in another $60 on a non-club river and I would have called it. My aim after this ragged flop was to see a showdown as cheaply as possible since I felt my hand was behind his range but my reads can often be wrong against inexperienced players.
Is my line here reasonable?
Should I just totally back whatever read I have and dump this on the flop rather than call down 3 streets based on the fact that I'm maybe 30% uncertain about myself?

Given your read I play exactly the same.
For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.
I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

The play is fine, but I think you've got to dump it on the river if he bets.

I reraise the flop to see where I'm at. that flop looks mighty good to 99 1010 JJ (and you).
and if he pops you back, you stick with your read and fold, if he flats, he may even check the turn and give you a free card. if he flats I'd be super tempted (read as: I would) to call him down though.
