    Default 9T in 4bet pot

So I was picking on MP but then SB got involved for a min 4bet which I'm obviously not folding to. He's in his 1st orbit at the table so there's no relevant stats.

    Absolute/UB Cereus No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) - Absolute/UB Cereus Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    Button ($11.89)
    SB ($34.65)
    BB ($21.48)
    UTG ($13.16)
    MP ($25.86)
    Hero (CO) ($38.60)

Preflop: Hero is CO with ,
1 fold, MP bets $0.85, Hero raises to $2.90, 1 fold, SB raises to $5.80, 2 folds, Hero calls $2.90

    Flop: ($12.70) , , (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $7, SB calls $7

    Turn: ($26.70) (2 players)
    SB checks, Hero checks

    River: ($26.70) (2 players)
SB raises to $21.85 (All-In), Hero folds

    Total pot: $26.70 | Rake: $1.32

How's my play here? Villain check/called this flop which was weird. Apart from an oddly played AK I don't know what I beat here. Whatever he's got it's not making much sense to me but my best guess is an overpair, it's a really strange line though.

    yes yes you are folding.

ive always wondered what the fishy logic is for calling 4bets.

    and it's not a min4bet either

    fold>shove>send him your BR>call imo.
For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

Simply from reading the title I thought: "It's NL25, you shouldn't be holding T9 in a 4bet pot."

You really should be checking this flop and trying to get to showdown as cheap as possible. I presume the PF call was because you thought you had good pot odds? Your immediate odds count for nothing if you're going to start putting money in this weak post flop.

    PS - a min 4bet here would be $4.95.

OK there's no defending my postflop play here, it was total rubbish. I still don't understand why I should fold to his barely more than min 4bet though. Shouldn't I at least see a flop for $2.90 and just shutdown on less than 2 pair (2 pair using my 2 hole cards that is) given that I've got:

*a connected hand that he won't put me on
    *3-1 pot odds
*an opponent with another $30 in his stack who'll likely stack off
    *I'm in position

I mean what's the problem here? Does villain need more than $30 behind for the implied odds to justify a $2.90 call?

Also I'd been picking on UTG and especially MP with light 3bets and it was quite profitable. I think folding to such a small 4bet would probably spoil this for me as it sends a very weak signal out and probably kills my action here.

Yes, stacks need to be deeper. You won't flop big, hold up and stack him often enough to justify this call.

i dunno how to do the "we flop two pair x% of time" maths but i can assure you preflop is bad. even if you do flop two pair you'll get counterfeited a bit, AK can whiff and c/f etc.
