I have 121 hands worth of history with Villain here from another session. He is 21/14 with 3bet of 2% and probably has me at around 24/17. This is my 6th hand at the table and my 3rd consecutive open raise so I'm probably not quite getting the respect I deserve with AQ. My 2 previous raises just stole the blinds.

How's my play here?
Should I have 4bet preflop since there's a decent chance villain's 3 betting light?

AQ UTG with loose image

personally OOP I would just fold unless I knew 90% I was being 3bet light even then sometimes I still fold. Calling OOP in 3bet pots with weak hands and no plan just sucks.
First 3bet of the day from someone with a lower PFR and cbet is usually an insta muck for me
What was your plan for the continuing action if you 4 bet?

This guy might be 3betting you light which I doubt since he is kinda loose passive, but even if he thinks you are a 24/17 he doesn't think you are opening all that light UTG.

doubt your image has any influence on his decision to 3bet, just muck it pre.

It's the 2% 3bet you need to be worried about, I just throw this away preflop as everyone is saying, even if you were 3bet from the blinds and had position I throw this away.
People don't really 3bet light at NL25 it's just not all that profitable against the standard player who is only opening 10% of hands and stacking off with 60% of them.
So the villain thought he was winning, if he thought he was winning he was probably beating AQo and you had few outs to the redraw.
Folding the flop is standard.

I fold pre. I would want a little more info before I call, especially OOP.
For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.
I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

Say the flop comes A92 rainbow and you crai, you might has well have 23s and crai tbh as if you are 3bet you are never winning and if he folds it doesn't matter what you have. Slim chance he would have AJ and stack off anyway here I guess.

I disagree.....against an aggressive I'll 3 bet 99+ pre so I don't think it's a bad flat. I think you can argue to play it either way.

against an aggressive opener Ill 3bet a ton of garbage because I expect alot of folds. And against an aggressive 3better I have no problem getting it all in pre with AQ
The villian here though isn't aggressive and seems to have a tight 3bet range over the small sample
against this villian I think folding is the best option. just my opinion
