Not terribly hard to put him on 2 big diamonds here. He has a good enough hand to call pre-flop, so he has at least 2 big cards or a pair.

Another thing I thought of was that he flopped a boat with 99 and was content to let you lead the whole way to the river, knowing he couldn't be beat.

Actually, he was just smooth calling, probably praying for an Ace or a diamond.

There is no way that a river min-raise is a bluff here. You are most certainly beat, but it's probably impossible to fold to the min-raise.

5.4-1 seems good to me. I call but I'm definitely not happy about it.

Same here. If you have a good enough hand to bet the river, you're certainly going to call a min-raise unless you were bluffing.

As far as 5.4-1, the odds at this point don't really matter because you're either 100-0 or 0-100 to win.

It matters because if he happens to have naked 5's/air/[unlikely] straights a certain % of time, it'll make this call profitable rather than -ev. And here even with 5.4-1 I'm not sure it's even worth a call. But I hate folding to min-raises so I still call. lawl.

You are calculating your equity against his range here, the odds you are getting are hugely imortant. Prehaps moreso than on any previous streets because his hand is best defined and neither of you have implied odds or a positional advantage.

I'd have played the same as you. If his reraise was considerably larger on the river then I probably would have realised what he had and folded. The look on his face would have been a bit different if the river diamond was the 8 instead
