I think I'd c/r bigger on flop.
I'm not sure if I'm betting turn. Nothing worse is calling, but we could often be bluffed off the best hand if we just check here. Thoughts? As you said, B/f might be good.
I wonder why he checked the river too.

Don't be results orientated :P I don't like this board even with two pair. I'm c/r bigger there for value from weaker two pairs, flush draws and pair+gutters/openender hands.
There's not too many good turn cards out there for us, and I wouldn't mind taking the pot now even with top two. We're most likely ahead, and it's a really drawy board so I'd rather they pay a bit more for their draws than just an almost-min check-raise.
Does anyone see merits in c/c flop and then leading out a blank turn?

I disagree. I think there are more good cards for the turn than bad.
Obviously, you don't want to see a club, 9, J, or K. That's a total of 18 scare cards. The J isn't even that much of a scare card, especially if you're check raising this board. More times than not, a gut shot is going to fold, especially if it's the gut shot to the low end. No one holding an 8 is coming along in a check raised pot. Scare card count is actually more like 15.
Any 2-7 or Ace non club is a good card. Any Q or 10 is also a gold card.

2 9's, 3 J's, 3 K's, 3 8's, 9 clubs (-1 for T clubs) 20 cards to dodge there. Also, I don't see an A as too great of a card [probably not horrible, but not pleasing] as it hits some of their flop calling range too.
I hardly think that this would be a good spot to check almost min-raise and offer them great odds when we want to dodge half the deck. Which was why I was wondering if maybe c/c flop and leading a blank turn or c/c a bad turn would be better.Last edited by breathoflife89; 04-21-2009 at 06:41 PM.

Holy hell he lost value on the river check.
Lots of good rakeback options at http://www.rakeguard.com/?raf=KRE8R
KRE8R probably has about seventy college funds in his NL5 roll.
