I was a bit confused as to where I was. I know that if I was ahead on the flop I the turn and the river didn't change anything, but for some (stupid) reason I was afraid of a check raise on the river, and I don't think I could have called. Would you have bet for value here? if so, how much?

Should I have bet the river?

It's not a bad check because you don't stand to get him to call another bet.
Although in this situation, it would be nice to bet the hand, have him fold, and then not to have to show it.

Against most people I'd check back [and since you haven't posted reads, I'd check back here]. Depending on villain and reads, I'd bet out small on the river and expect to get called by weaker Ax here. I think checking is fine though.

Bet more on flop.
Bet more on turn.
Check back river.Lots of good rakeback options at http://www.rakeguard.com/?raf=KRE8R

I make flop about $7, NEVER check that turn (wtf piv?) your raise is about right and river... dont mind check... most chasers are folding anyway and as you say a bet opens you back up for a bluff or real raise; may as well end the hand here. Nice hand.

I can see the merits of checking back the turn.
Non-Ax hands won't call a turn bet with two overcards now showing but may check-call a river bet if it blanks.

Id bet more on the turn and check back the river.
Ax gives you value on the turn as does draws.

yeah, I agree. thats what I was thinking. I bet light on the flop because I had no idea where I was at. retrospectively I like 7 better too.
The whole table was pretending to be Negraneau so I didn't mind loosening up a bit.fold pre i think.
Thanks for all the advice guys! I appreciate it!
For the record villain was slightly ahead on the flop with
