Default PLO 50 - Overpair on low board

Short stacker is a donk playing almost every hand

No reads on other player

Is pre flop a check or raise?

This seemed like it should be a fold to me but I wasn't really sure. Do people really chase low sets in Omaha? I guess a lot of the time I'm flipping against AhXhXxXx. I'm never really ahead here am I?

flop is a definite fold.

I raise that pre, every single time.

check/fold the flop, this is PLO. by checking you might get a free card as well, A K, 8, or Q would be nice.

I actually thought we might get more analysis out of you with PLO Steve.

What do you think BPM has? As I asked before, do people really chase low sets? It seems unprofitable in Omaha

Also when you start a hand with 40BB's can we not stack off lighter?

He could be moving on you with a hand like AhXhXX, or something stronger, maybe he played TT44, 99TJ, Ah3h45, or something. No matter what I'm not putting anymore $$$ in with this hand.

The point is, just get out of this hand losing $2, don't put $30-your stack on the line with an overpair against an unknown. Remember, this is not hold'em.

As far as chasing sets go, I'd imagine it happens a ton cos the vast majority of players have come from holdem where it's pretty standard.

I'm interested in what Steve-O thinks about chasing low sets. I figure them to be very vulnerable hands because you must get set under setted more often than in Hold'em and also when you make a small full house there is a fair possiblity you're still behind or going to be outdrawn?

there good against ABC players (people who raise AA or only 4 broadway cards). especially a hand like 9955ds, or 6688. A lot of people HAVE to continuation bet AA post-flop. and get themselves committed to the hand. Coincidentally, this is why you need to be raising and occasionally reraising hands like 5678, 6677, A345s, and such. To eliminate people putting you on big cards when you come in betting.

You'll find more consistent opponents in Omaha than in hold'em, less of a player pool. You'll also find winners who are easy to beat, which is nice; people you can exploit that pull a profit out of the game and are always there! YIPPEE!!!

Really, you shouldn't chase low sets unless the hand has something else going for it, say 7789 and such.

Low-mid pairs are horrible hands.
7789 is a significantly worse hand than 789T, 789J or even 789Q.

- When you flop top set with 77 there are straight draws out, when you flop bottom/mid set you can never be that happy invase your against higher set and when you do get all in and have the best hand you are still going to be 50% pretty regularly against megawraps or straight/flush combos.

- You basically have 6 hold em hands in PLO:
789T is 78, 79, 7T, 89, 8J and 9J.
7789 is 77 78 79 and 89 - just 4 hands

- When you flop a wrap with 7789 you have 2 of your outs in your hand.
