Default AJ 3bet nasty flop

Seat 1: Hero ($9.85 in chips)
Seat 2: BTN ($2.80 in chips)
Seat 3: SB ($11.65 in chips)
Seat 4: BB ($9.05 in chips)
Seat 10: MP ($20.45 in chips)
ANTES/BLINDS
SB posts blind ($0.05), BB posts blind ($0.10).

PRE-FLOP
MP bets $0.50, Hero bets $1.40, BTN folds, SB folds, BB folds, MP calls $0.90.

I think your pre flop raise needs to be $1.70 here. 14BB's is standard for a 4BB open but I prefer 17 for a 5xBB open (x3+2)

Is this his normal opening size?

tbh I prefer just calling pre without reads.

As played, I probably call and evaluate turn. Raising seems very spewy.

hmm just seen it was 5bb raise. I'm more likely to fold to that, 3.5bb and I'm mostly calling. Still 5 handed I don't think calling is bad.

Yeah, I'm folding pre-flop all day long. The only way I'm re-raising with AJ pre-flop is if I KNOW the guy has loose raising standards or will fold if he bricks the flop.

i fold to his wackass 5bb open, and would flat vs. a 4x or 3x raise. 3bet just folds out a lot of dominated hands while keeping in AK and AQ
