villain is 16/8/9 over 120 hands, I've been 3betting him a ton on another table where I have position on him.

On reflection I think flop is a standard bet, we still get called by worse 10s. Thoughts?

Do we just give up to the turn raise? Thing is he is going to be expecting us to lead flop with an Ace surely making this an easy spot to bluff?

meh now that you checked the flop i might check the turn and just call him down to prevent exactly what just happened. I would also bet the flop. You have the best hand the large majority of the time an you raised preflop so bet. by checking you can get yourself into sticky situations like this one.

I think I'd prefer the check in position. Here I prefer betting most of the time cos the delayed cbet will prob get bluff raised a load by an aggressive villain. And like you say, unless he knows you can check a big ace to him on the flop, it's not going to work.
