Default NL10, 2nd NF, river pairs board

Villain is unknown.

Call oder folden? I don't like his suddenly coming alive on a paired board but he could have - 7x or something. He could also have been 'slowplaying' like a jack-high flush?

I'd check to him on the turn, let him try and bluff it. also if he checks behind we can probably squeeze out loose calls on the river.

as played i think i just c/c. i don't like the block bet cos it just asks to be raised and if you're even thinking about folding to it you should've just checked.

tbh c/f isn't bad, but i'd rather know they're uber passive first.

Hmm, good point about the block bet, my reasoning was if he's that much of a station (which he seemed to be) then I'm likely to get a call from much worse.

Hmm, two for c/r'ing the turn. It never even crossed my mind - is being afraid of the checking for a free card far too nittish?

..not sure I understand your question there. You're saying villain with nut flush is checking the turn for a free card?

No, I'm saying that for some reason I read the word "turn" as "flop." Duh.

tbh I'm not sure how much I like your flop call. When drawing to a 4 card flush I want to have the Ace if I'm calling a raise.

i actually like the turn bet more than a c/r, i think villain has a made hand like set/overpair/baby flush most of the time and will often check the 5h back. and b/c he's a station, he's not gonna fold just because mj led out.

on the river i'd make a 1/2 pot value bet and fold to a raise.

oh whoops yeah, totally didn't pay attention to the flop action at all. calling that raise is bad, especially oop.
