Default NL25 99 gets squeezed

BB is 17/8 over 50 hands, I'm running the bog standard 20/17 and haven't been out of line. SB is 40/20

Seat 1: BB ($24.60 in chips)
Seat 3: UTG ($27.05 in chips)
Seat 4: MP ($26.45 in chips)
Seat 5: Hero ($27.45 in chips)
Seat 9: SB ($24.55 in chips)
ANTES/BLINDS
SB posts blind ($0.15), BB posts blind ($0.25).

PRE-FLOP
UTG folds, MP calls $0.25, Hero bets $1.25, SB calls $1.10, BB bets $6, MP folds, Hero reckons cheeky nit is full of shit

This is textbook squeeze and the only reason I didn't shove was because of SB.

Do players at NL25 know what a squeeze is?

Yeah lmao at thinking this is ever a squeeze at this level

Players only ever play the value of their hand

I think you are both way off. Piv is playing NL25 and clearly knows what a squeeze is.

That being said I am folding this spot 100% of the time at any level against an unknown running pretty tight.

Sure a 25nl player can squeeze but I would want some evidence first from previous hands.

This guy is far too nitty, 17/8 isn't squeezing anywhere near enough to make this profitable.

Fold.

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

I thought that, but then KRE8R is playing NL5 and is obviously capable of those sorts of plays.

Well, OK, maybe not him, but some people...

You have a point though, the fact that you lose less money folding the best hand than calling with the worst hand is in direct correlation with it being more profitable to overestimate your opponents rather than underestimate them.
