Default Q9s double-barrel

Absolutely all of my bluffs/semi-bluffs have been called down this week. I was hesitant to make this double-barrel but decided against being a results-oriented pussy and went for it.

I'd like to get some thoughts from the more experienced cash players on here (at micro stakes too) on this play. I'm not completely sure if I was correct double-barrel here.

Thanks for any input.

Any reads?

I don't like it. That turn card has changed nothing and unless he was floating the flop with complete air he isn't going anywhere. People don't fold flush draws at this level which makes up a decent part of his range (yes he could have a J high flush draw or something technically giving you value but he has the A/K/Q high one so much). He also isn't folding an 8 or probably 66/77 (maybe even a 5).

If you had reads that he calls flops but folds turns then a bet would prob be fine.

If the turn was a scare card like a spade or an ace or something then a bet would be ok without reads. You're more likely to push him off a better hand when the board gets scary.

Ya, I'm not expecting A3/A5 to fold at this level, which why I was so hesitant to make the move.

I think I got lucky it worked out.

Pre-flop and flop I like but the turn, like Dave says, is too much of a blank.

What did you put him on ? Did you put him on something preflop, flop, turn ? If you honestly say no, and made a blind play, well, it was a blind play and it worked out. If you sensed weakness with some reads, it's ok.

Now I wonder what the hell your opponent had to call the flop and not the turn...

At this level it could be any 2 cards. But most likely it's A high.

Bet this turn if it's anything above a 10

EDIT - make that a 9 since you have one
