I've got stats on him, a fair few hands as well. I'd imagine he's solid, he was multitabling at the time. I would be fairly certain he runs PT with a HUD and so will see me as a reasonably solid grinder (maybe, lol). If I'm in his spot and get a cold call of my 3bet from a solid grinder it really puts the shits up me. I'd instantly think a big pair or MAYBE AQ at a push. For that reason I'm much less likely to cbet the flop 3way (we can't ignore the fact CO can show up with a hand), I'd excercise a bit of pot control.

If it was a more standard $4 open and $14 3bet then I'd be more worried about getting cold called by a monster.

I guess I better get back to work, lol *sigh*

Another thing jh. Raising for protection, does that not imply trying to get a worse hand to call us?

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

A very respected player on cardrunners:

at least call one street. Your line is very strong, I don't see him bluffing into you for 2 streets.
Thoughts on this? I assume he's talking about the flop obv.

I don't like calling to fold to any further bets. We'd have $42/$100 invested by the turn and folding an over pair would be a big mistake. What's to say he doesn't keep firing 10s/Js? And we are letting him hit a A/K for free if he has an over(s)

I would 3bet this up to 35$ pf, and probably play for stacks.

I could see sb doing this 3bet with a pretty wide range. It also helps to know the attempt to steal stat that the sb has, because this is usually in correlation to how wide he is capable of 3betting pre (e.g. a higher attempt to steal usually means hes 3betting a wider range).

I've been searching through my HA posts and thought I'd bump this.

Looking back, if this hand happened today I would 4bet most of the time.

I still don't like shoving the flop...
