Default 100nl mid pair vs TAG

Villain is 17/13/3.5, seems a standard TAG.

Is river a bet, c/c or c/f? And why?

What about flop, anyone c/r this?

$0.50/$1 No Limit Holdem
5 players
Converted at weaktight | fold when you know you're beat (BETA)

Stacks:
UTG ($161.10)
CO ($32.30)
BTN ($217.95)
Hero ($99.50)
BB ($149.25)

Pre-flop: ($1.5, 5 players) Hero is SB
UTG bets $4, 2 folds, Hero calls $3.50, 1 fold

Flop: ($9, 2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $6, Hero calls $6.

Turn: ($21, 2 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks

River: ($21, 2 players)
Hero ???

I'd occasionally c/r that flop but not always

edit: changed mind on opening vs. bluffcatching river

bet river. You have the best hand imo. I would put him on a lower pp than you. Prolly 66 or 77. No one would fire the flop then check the turn with the J.

More often then not I think we win this hand.

I'd bluffcatch this river.

Check hoping he makes another stab at the pot on the river, if he decides to check it down, we see a cheap showdown.

check call river

-he folds if he has nothing
-he probably calls if he has you beat with A-10 or shit (a 10 not in his range IMO unless it's pocket 10's)
-if he has a pocket pair less than 9's, he might bet himself and you can call winning a bet. I think he folds 55-66-77-88
-if he has nothing, he might bluff to take the pot on a river, winning yourself a bet
-His raises probably don't include a Jack UTG ( I doubt AJ ) unless it's pocket J's. This hand screams AK - AQ

flop is ok. Bet turn maybe, 15$, that's the only thing I would of done differently. The only hand he calls is overpair or with a J on the turn if you bet 15$.

so overall, I think we have the best hand here, and check calling IMO will earn us an extra bet more often than if we bet ourselves.

yeah, I think I agree that it's more +EV to c/c than lead out the river on second thought, there's really not much he'd call us with that we beat. good points.

Yeah river is a c/c, not sure why I even asked. I was a little tilted last night.

Flop though, rough percentages for c/r and c/c?

mister x you really need to work on your ranges:

UTG at a 5 handed table he most definitely should be raising AT and AJ.

From that position I also raise KJs/KTs/QJs/QTs/JTs (not 100% of the time but often)

If you c/c the river you played it fine
