2nd hand don't need to shove to the reraise but you should always think about what odds you are giving them when you are raising or betting. Your raise to $5 means he needs only call $3 more into a pot that is now $9.35 (1.35 + 1 + 2 + 5), so he has correct odds to call on a flush draw, and pretty darn close to correct for a straight draw. His minraise on a drawing board usually indicates a draw and he wants to build the pot bigger while still getting great odds to stay in the hand. Raise it to $7 so he has to call $5 into an $11.35 pot, incorrect odds for chasing a draw.

First hand seems OK.

Second, I dunno about shoving but $5 is too small. Azel has already done the maths for you.
