$200NL 5max JJ Hand 1.
Poker Room skin
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $1/$2
5 players
Converter
Stack sizes:
UTG: $815.15
CO: $252.20
Button: $664.50
SB: $200.00
Wota: $202.95
Pre-flop: ( 5 players) Wota is BB with
UTG calls, CO folds, Button calls, SB raises to $12, Wota calls, UTG calls, Button folds.
Flop: ( $38, 3 players)
SB bets $22, Wota calls, UTG calls.
Turn: ( $104, 3 players)
SB checks, Wota checks, UTG checks.
River: ( $104, 3 players)
SB checks, Wota checks, UTG bets $70, SB folds, Wota calls.
Results:
Final pot: $244
SB had really low PFR (<6%) and he was OOP so I didn't feel like 3betting the JJ to a large raise here. Is this a mistake?
UTG was playing around 70/20/3. He was winning a lot of pots by calling down then hitting gutshots/2 pairs/sets with underpairs etc and getting paid off.

I read the QQ one too and i think you played both too passively. 5 handed, unless the guy is super tight, i would reraise preflop or i would call and then raise on the flop to find out where i stand. You call $70 on river basically guessing. Why not rais him on the flop and find out some info and it wont cost you $92 to find out, which is what you spent calling. Also raising preflop gets this other clown out of the pot, by just calling you invite him in with all sorts of hands.

if he was under 6 % PFR OOP i think you made the correct decision playing is passive POSTFLOP.
im re-raising PF and if he comes back over the top lay it. im lost in the dark with that UTG bet on the river. im assuming he hit a set on the river or turned a straight, if hes playing 70/20 it isnt a stretch.

everything looks fine up until the river, where i prefer a block bet of 60ish to a c/c

I agree with squeezy, I think I like a bet on that river to get some value out of UTG calling with a T or a 9, or putting you on a busted draw. $50-60 seems a decent number.
But is $60 really a block bet? That's pretty much value bet size no?

semantics, whatever
i consider any river bet that's not a bluff to be a value bet, so block bets would be a subset of value bets

Guy had 93.
I hate my play on this hand. I don't know if it's because I have been playing alot of full ring recently or if it's because I am on a bit of a losing streak but I am playing my semi strong hands so passively and then calling off with them when I get outdraw anyway.
I am happy with preflop since I think the guy has TT+ or AQ+ here and probably folds TT and AQ and pushes the rest if I 3bet him so I like the call.
I think though I either need to be raising the flop or probably even better betting the turn after the raiser has checked since his most likely holding at this point is AK/AQ and the other guys most likely holding is a ten or draw.

Losing streaks often lead to overly cautious play, but that in turn leads to bigger losses. in 5 handed play JJ QQ should be played aggressive, but if your against lunatics or whatever you can let them bluff off chips to you. Just stick to your natural game and try not to let bad beats or whatever effect you. Long run and all that bollocks is true, but the long run can be pretty long. Swings in 5 handed games could be pretty big. Maybe you feel more comfortable in a full ring agame
