Default 50nl HU - 2 pair v maniac

I’m in BB with $165 against a guy who I’ve clearly tilted (because I caught him bluffing). He has $50. He is raising ridiculously large amounts PF (incl. opening to $8 on occasions) and is 3 betting me a lot and very largely from his BB. Every time I have led at a $4 pot for $3 he has raised it to $9 and led the turn. I am yet to see what hands he’s been doing this with because I’ve been taking him off his hands on the turn.

I’ve got A3 and he makes it $2 to go, I call.

Flop – AJ3 (2 spades)

I lead for 3 knowing he’ll make it 9 with every single hand in his range aside from maybe 2 pair or a set and as expected he does make it 9.

What is the optimal play here? I know he isn’t folding any ace or flush draw. Is our hand strong enough to call and pick off another bet on the turn with a check/raise given that he doesn’t need an ace to be raising me? Do we re raise small thinking that he will 4bet bluff shove like the maniac that he is? Do we re raise big just because we know that if he has an Ace or FD he isn’t going anywhere?

I don't like the two spades, so I reraise and hope for a shove.

I reraise to $14- it's big enough to get value out of your hand, make him pay to chase a draw (which you think he will) and small enough to incite a shove.

BTW, I am reading the pot size right, yeah? $2+$2 preflop + $3 + $9 on the flop makes it a $16 pot before your move, correct?

But I'm a fucking pussy, anyone else do different?

im actually down for a weak 3 bet here, i think you have the right idea, he might lead out with a strong 4 bet maybe he might shove, but we most certainly know you are ahead here.

3betting heavy isnt a bad play here either, i mean, you said it yourself he is a maniac and might shove with any ace FD mid pair ect.

the only thing i dont like here is a call, i think this might scream "i have something!" because by now he knows that you know he is betting crazy shit, so a call would def. put him on the defensive.

either way though i think we might be getting a shove.
