Default QQ NL5

Sorry don't have the HH on this one, but other player is very new to the table, stacks are about $6 each, NL5.

I was dealt QQ on the button.

2 limpers, then middle position raises 20c. I raise to 70c, others fold, he calls.

J 8 2 on the flop (potential flush draw), he checks, I raise 90c, he calls.

J on the turn, he checks, I bet $1.50 he calls.

5 on the river (no flush), he checks, I bet $2, he calls.

He turns over suited JT (not suited to the board). I had him on flush draw with the check calling, but obviously he was just playing me. Either way I think I should have checked the river, when AA/KK/Jx had me well and trully covered after the turn.

After sitting out and having a walk, very next hand I get is QQ again, and it's played nearly identical to the turn. Then I check with him on last two cards, he showed trip 4's. Glad I didn't keep betting that time, strange player.

there was $1.60 in the pot on the flop, bet like $1.30, .90 is weak. Bet 2/3 pot on the turn and give up to resistance. fold to river bet/check behind.

This is a very easy check behind on the turn. The FD isn't paying you anything, and the J obv calls.

I suppose we can check the turn here but I'm calling a river bet. If he's a normal minraising station then I'm fine with betting the turn and charging him to draw to his gutshot.

Sounds like your opponent is the calling type. I wonder even if you push on flop, he will call anyways thinking his bigger kicker will prevail. Your bad beat is probably inevitable.
