Red face NL100 6m Calling down multiple barrels light

Here's two hands i posted where i called three barrels light

though in general you should be agro most of the time, a lot of times i think it's great to play hands passively (in certain situations) and i think these were two of them.

http://vpip.blogspot.com/2007/09/cal...own-light.html

do any of you guys have any comments on how i played these hands or my analysis of them?

This strategy will cost you as was shown in the 99 hand.

Variance will be excessively high.

There are certain occasions where calling a raise is optimal e.g. AK on A44 board, you bet, get raised, you call because you're either way ahead/way behind.

ive tried this style when i first started playing online for money, and harding is right on this nose about this style of play.
if you are talking about doing this play sometimes and will it be +ev in the long run? im gonna say no.
you really have to pay attention to villains calling range/raising range and you have to constantly pay attention to the boards in order play this style.

as far as the two hands you played calling light, i consider your play to be standard. had i been in the same position i would have came to the same conclusion, it just awfully bad luck he hit his ten.

how would you have played the 99 hand?

also would you have played the A5 hand differently and how?

99 I call flop, probably call turn and definitely fold to the river.

A5 - flop fine, turn ok although its worrying he led in to us after we raised the flop, river again is an ok call in my books.

It was the 99 hand I had more problems with.

3bet the flop. Give in to serious action.

Fold that river.

i like the 3b flop line for the 99 hand... esp since i think a draw makes up a good amt of his range there...
