Default flopping a set on a straightening board

From a local live game:

I've got 99 in late position and limp in.

Flop is 9 10 J rainbow

big blind bets pot, 1 caller in middle position -- everyone else folds to you. How much to you raise (or do you just call)?

Actual scenerio: I reraised to the new pot size (3X the original pot size on the flop). Both players call. Turn is a K, big blind bets 1/4 pot, 1 caller, and I call knowing I need a board pair. River is a blank and I fold to the value bets BB shows QK, caller shows 78...

Raise this, 4bb +1 per limper or something.

Can we have some details on stack sizes or any reads? If it's reasonable deepstacked and no obvious reads I raise just under the size of the pot on the flop (ie. up to 4x the original bet) and pretty much give up to that turn card, calling any small bets.

I hate limp-fests... how many people limped a head of you? with 4 people in the pot 9's are pretty bad. KQ may have stuck in there, but if 78 won that you would have deserved to be felted. I guess the flop re-raise at least let you know where you were in the hand and you were smart not to commit any more, but you lost more than you needed to in this hand.
