AK out of position in a RE-raised pot, do we C-bet here?
Haven't been playing with the villain for very long but he hasn't gotten out of line at all in the short time we've been playing. This is a situation I find myself in every now and then, though. LP raises, I re-raise with AK out of position and the villain calls. How often will you c-bet here and what factors will you use to make your decision?
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (8 handed)
UTG ($67.10)
UTG+1 ($23.90)
MP1 ($64.55)
MP2 ($97.50)
CO ($107.65)
Button ($95.50)
SB ($134.75)
Hero ($159.95)
Preflop: Hero is BB with , .
4 folds, CO raises to $4, 2 folds, Hero raises to $15, CO calls $11.
Flop: ($30.50) , , (2 players)
Hero bets $20, CO raises to $40, Hero folds.
Final Pot: $90.50
Results in white below:
No showdown. CO wins $90.50.

standard IMO if you 3 bet it PF OOP
IDK why he'd min raise though. Thats just a weird play w/ 2 clubs. I guess he puts you on OP and thus you cant have a flush draw. I would really be interested if someone could shed some light as to what he would min raise here w/
Fold is standard to the r/r. Too bad ace wasn't a club.

I'll C-bet this flop most of the time vs. anyone.
I think he's min-raising here most of the time with some sort of pocket pair. Either to find out where he's at with a mid pair or to get more money in the pot with a higher pp or a set.

i cbet there every single time, but I would probably bet a lil less then what u did..
id probably bet like maybe 16$-18$..
its good to cbet that but just make sure u also cbet ur made hands along with ur hands that missed for the same amount as well, or something close to it.
e.g. I would cbet on a missed flop with AK, and also cbet AA for the same amount, after hitting a set on the flop, I would also cbet the same amount if I had KK/QQ/JJ and the flop came A high.

I definitely CB here, and agree with Eclipse on the bet size. tbh there's been a huge increase in annoying min-raises postflop, it doesn't surprise me one bit, but the villain really shouldn't be doing that with any holding on that board. I'd put him on TT-QQ so it's an easy fold when he raises.

I think the villain can afford to min raise this flop if he has AA with the Ac since he will know in a reraised pot it is very unlikely he will be up against a FD in this spot. (I'm not saying it's a good play).

Anyone think just completing PF is a decent option here, too? The flop will miss you 2/3 times but when it does hit, villain won't put us on it.

Villain is raising from CO so there's a good chance he's stealing. If I don't re-raise PF and then wind up missing the flop, the villain is going to win the pot most times with a C-bet. 90% of the time when you make this re-raise PF, your opponent is going to fold and you can pick up a nice little pot without ever having to see a flop.

I agree with Eclipse that a smaller CB is more valuable here because the flop texture's so light. With JJ+, I'd CB more because with the pot so big, any CB sets up a turn push and a larger CB like $18-$22 commits him to calling the turn push.
Nice hand.
