Default Quads Out of Position - Did I drop the hammer to early?

Extract maximum value on this hand. Villain is a pretty solid opponent who I've played with before. If he has any kind of read on me, he probably knows that I'm a laggy player who's capable of running big bluffs. I figure he probably has air here because I would think that if he had something like 99-QQ/AA then he definitely would have re-raised PF. I guess he could have 22/33/55/66/77 but I'm guessing he wouldn't have bet the turn if that was the case.

My first problem was on the flop because I never know how to play top set. I often just lead right out (cause I almost always lead right out) but I find no one usually calls me. In this case though, it worked.

As for the turn, I hate my C/R here but I didnt really know what to do. I didnt want to lead out again cause I figured that would scare him away. So should I have just check/called? If you do check/call, how would you play the river? Would you lead out on the river or check and hope he fires the 3rd bullett?

It's always gonna be difficult to get value out of quads unless the villain has something they aren't letting go of. I like firing the turn for $15 or so, especially after him raising you on the flop. If he raises your turn bet he's gonna find it really hard to lay down if you 3-bet him there and then.

I lead this turn. But for $25 or so.

If you bet out first, it looks like you're just continuing your aggression and are maybe running a semi-bluff with a couple of big hearts.

But your line of PFR/bet-call/CR...it looks like a monster. I'd put you on at least 3 kings with that line.

But if you lead, you may get villain to think his 2 pair is good.

I don't mind a check/call with a value bet on the river of about $25 to look like you're blocking. I'd like leading more if the board had a more conceivable draw or an Ace to represent.

i think a check min raise to 40$ is perfect on the turn.
I also like alex's line of check-calling then value betting riv, as it looks like a blocking bet, and may induce some bluff-raises, especially if u block bet for something like less then 1/3rd ps.
