Default Would you have made the call?

Live $1-$2 NL cash game, 6-handed.

UTG with pocket ace's. Pretty friendly table, had my pocket Kings busted to 3-6 suited earlier that night because apparently I didn't raise enough pre-flop, so this time with Ace's, I raise to $10(I still want SOME sort of action)

Every one at the table, except for the big blind, know me as a tight player. BB had only been at the table for about 25 minutes, played a few hands. He had taken a decent size pot from me when he check called me down to the river with Ace-7 when I had AK, he paired his kicker on the river, did not re-raise me.

The button calls, and the big blind calls, so there's $30 in the pot. Flop is 8 - 6 - 2, rainbow. Big blind is first to act, and he goes all-in for $105.

You're sitting with about $350(bought in for $140), and you can tell the button will fold by the way he reacted to the bet. The BB is looking like he doesnt want a call here. To me, it seemed like he had a hand, but he didnt want to have to play it, so just want all-in.

Do YOU make the call?

EDIT: Added a bit more info

since we are live and we dont have a time limit

we can ask ourselves a few things...

what hands beat me, 8 6 2 sets and nothing else

he flat calls our pf raise, if he puts us on a monster and he has a set then he knows hes gonna get paid... i call here its only costing us 100 bux so we are still up if we do get beat

he has jacks tens or nines

good hand sir

ship them please

I put him on about the same thing you did, but I'll post what he had and what happened after a few more opinions

Id raise more preflop. In my experience at these stakes in live games 10bb raises are often called multiple times. if you raised less than 5bb with KK, then you certainly under raised them.

If I knew it would be heads up I couldn't fold to this shove since him having 79 for the straight draw or 99-KK are too likely and having put 1/11th of his stack in preflop he hasnt got too great an odds from you to flop a set and bust you.

Call. Nothing to really be afraid of, and you would probably expect a set to go for a check raise or bet much smaller. My guess is that he has nothing at all, puts you on high cards, and expects you to fold. At best he has 99 or TT.

Thats what I thought. If he would of flopped a set, he wouldnt of bet as much, he would of wanted me in the hand, not try and force me out. And, to top it off, after only maybe 30-45 seconds of thinking, he called time on me. This set off another warning bell in my head. He didn't want me to think about it and make the call, was my guess.

Anyways, I called, he flipped over 8-2 offsuit for 2 pair... The turn came a 6, giving me a higher two pair, and the pot

The guy got mad after the hand, and i just told him "Next time don't call $10 pre-flop with 8-2o"

He had your pants down and was about to stick it in you when the police bust through the door and shoot him in the face. Justice is swift and sure. I love it.
