No read on the villain at all. With him just calling me down, I figured he was maybe drawing but when he re-raised me on the river, I suddenly became afraid of 9T.

I think you played it perfectly. The queen might have slowed me down a bit, however checking here might induce a bluff from him, so I like that bet a lot too. I'm not folding the river either, because his bet isn't huge and there's no flush out there so only few hands actually beat yours.
