Before reading Bags I would have said bet out $7.

Fold to a raise.
If he calls turn bet and checks river I check behind.
If a non spade comes and he bets river I probably call (depending on player and bet size).
If a spade comes and he bets river I fold.

Anything more than $6 is fine. Anything more than $8's a bit of an overbet. I lean closer to the $6-$6.50 range. Even with a combo draw, it's wrong of him to call this and he seems so weak that he'd try a check-raise on the river if he hit and you'd check behind to the scare cards. This is good reason to bet $7-$8 for the extra value when you do have to check behind.

I think I know who's gonna say bet $15 and when he does reply with that, he's wrong. You want to protect your hand, but you want a pair of tens and weaker Jacks (who took a flop 'cause they were s00ted) to call. A worthy argument for this is that $10 is a nice pot. Mine is that overbetting leaves money on the table.
