Common, he flopped middle pair for christ sakes... he had no reason to imagine you could possibly have that beat. There was $14 in the pot and you only raised 12... he had like... odds to call that.

Yup, gder's sarcastic streak has definitely rubbed off on me. I suppose I can see him calling the flop since BB folded, but he had no business calling the turn or your river check-raise.

I hope you told him "nh... you played it right, but just got unlucky. You'll get it next time"

Well... he did'nt played it sooo bad, but he could have raise the flop to see where he was at... at least thats what I would have done. That would have save him a lot of $$$... well maybe 10$...

I probably would have just bet out on the river, if calls your check raise he def calls a slightly smaller bet. That way there is no risk of him checking it down, and losing value, especially since he seems like a calling station.

I put him on a draw. Since none of them got there, I figured I'd give him a chance to bluff off some chips.

I lead river. I'm sure its more +EV than a CR. But it still worked so nicely done!

played it perfectly imo, although I just pot the flop instead of 1/2 pot (if anyone has set/2pair, lower straight, etc.. i want to get their money in asap before flush hits... half potting the flop might not do it quick enough)

i also raise the river alot harder... like $18-20... most NL50 players are POW's, who are incapable of folding to a river check-raise cuz they always think ur trying to bluff them...

I like it. Anything that's calling you down is gonna bet the river. He's gonna value bet with any pair. If he missed his straight, he's folding to your bet, but he'll bet to you check. This is a great board to check/raise on the river given the action. It's maximizes your wins when he does and doesn't have a hand because you played this like a straight draw from flop to river. Even the check/raise looks like a bluff.
