Default Top 2 vs Lots of Action

I donked this one up real bad. I've lost a couple of big pots recently with 2 pair and I think it caused me to play this one scared. No reads on either opponent here but I didn't fear the SB at all. I knew I was ahead of him. The way the BB played the hand I figured he had to have either 88 or 9T. The only other hand I figured he might have was QJ for the tie.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (7 handed)

Button ($8.25)
SB ($14.30)
BB ($28.40)
UTG ($6.70)
Hero ($22.15)
MP2 ($24.75)
CO ($23.75)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with , .
1 fold, Hero calls $0.25, 3 folds, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($0.75) , , (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $0.5, SB calls $0.50, BB raises to $2, Hero calls $1.50, SB calls $1.50.

Turn: ($6.75) (3 players)
SB checks, BB bets $2.5, Hero calls $2.50, SB raises to $8, BB raises to $26.15, Hero ________________ ??? SB calls $4.05 (All-In).

River: ($47.45) (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $47.45

Results in white below:
SB has Js 7s (one pair, jacks).
BB has Jd 8c (two pair, jacks and eights).
Outcome: BB wins $47.45.

Yes, you are behind 88 or 9T. But he could have KT or Qx. Your bet does not necessarily show strength as you could just be stabbing at the pot. I would reraise him on the flop (to $5, I guess) to really find out where you are at. This probably costs you less than calling his flop raise and moving forward on the turn. If he raises you again after your flop reraise, you can more comfortably let it go.

Long term with 2 players showing that much interest thats a definite fold minus any reads. There will be occasions when this happens and you will regret it, but there will be far more where you were behind and congratulate yourself.

BB probably has neither T9 nor 88. SB might have it. If you knew SB is a donk, you can probably push the flop or the turn
