Can Phil Ivey break the 10 bracelet record?
This guy never fails to impress me. After recently winning his 5th bracelet in PLO w/ rebuys, I'm left wondering how many more. I believe he's 27(?) If he continues to play a lot of poker I believe he will win at least 10+ bracelets in his carerr. Discuss!
(Ivey's ridiculous resume)

Bankroll managements problems? He has a bad week, he can hit a lower high-stakes Stud game for a week or two and be fine. Not to mention that he cashes a ton of times for amounts that are not a waste of time when he doesn't sandbag. I really don't know or care if he gets 10. I think he will, but as years go by, he'll play less tournies because of all of the traffic it brings to the cash games.

I agree Alex, and he has so much money that he will always be playing big poker. However, from what I've heard, if he was not a pro playing smaller limits, he would be one of those guys we would be criticizing for playing over their roll and not knowing when to stop. However, since he doesn't really have to worry about that, he will continue to win bracelets. I wouldn't be surprised to see him at the FT in the ME.

He has a constant roll. He don't pay his entry fees for tournies. People probably owe him money, not to mention, people he's investing action in. He's worth over 8 figures and until a 50k/100k game becomes a constant, he'll be just fine.

$50k/100k is just sickening to me. Most people don't make that in a year, and we have guys putting it on as one bet, in a game. I could never allow myself to play at that level, even if I was worth 10 figures.

How does he have bankroll problems? Where did you get this information? Phil Ivey is always in action, when he busts out of a tourney it is straight to a cash game. Unlike many other "superstars" I have seen slumming or begging after they bust out.
I hear this about Gus Hansen as well, but he is always playing so theoretically he always has money, where is the bankroll management problem? Maybe they lose amounts hurtful to them but they do not go broke or even close to it.
I've seen Huck Seed playing 2/4 Hold Em to scrounge up enough money to buy into a satellite to a tournament, I've seen TJ asking to borrow a few hundred from people, as well as some other sad sights in my small amount of times in cardrooms. these are people with bankroll issues not someone worth 2 million who loses $500,000 in a couple days and has to drop back a little bit.
Maybe Phil can't always put himself into a 3K/6K game and needs a backer (he might not use a backer I'm just making a point) but he can surely play 300/600 or buy himself into a tournament without going down to 2/4 with his last $40.
