OK watche da quick chunk of the '04 WSOP ME today, and saw the Mattias Anderson (known to me as Pokermats, used to play regularly with him) and Ericson.

Matt had a Huge stack, don't remember how big though, but very healthy and has , and makes a standard PF raise. Ericson has (ok dont remember exact suits), and pushes all-in. Matt goes into the tank and eventually lays it down, then guessing Ericson had 7's, close enough. Matt "correctly" knew he was about a 53/47 dog there, but was up against a short stack.

At what % of your own stack does making this type of call become correct? When I'm looking ot eliminate a player, when should I go into the small stack coinflips knowing I'm most likley a dog?

Eliminating players has varying value.

Very early in the money where the payouts are flat, or no where near the money there is not really any value in it above the chips you gain (I think).

The places where Mattias gambled in that game where strange ones.

That is about as deep as I can get never playing in a tournament where you could get in 30+ hands per level and the starting stack was 200x the BB.

As you have seen, it wouldn't take too much overlay for me to make that call.
