Doyle "Texas Dolly" Brunson, Dolly to his friends, was born 10th of August 1933, Longworth, Fisher County, Texas. He has been playing poker for over 50years, he first started playing in illegal games on Exchange Street, Fort Worth, Texas
with a friend named Dwayne Hamilton. they began traveling around Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, playing in bigger games, and met fellow professionals Amarillo Slim and Sailor Roberts.

Due to the fact Doyle was playing illegal games usually run by organized criminals, and rules were rarely used, and followed even less, Doyle has had a gun pulled on him on a few occasions also probable because this is Doyle Brunson and Im sure he usually left with there money he was often beaten and robbed.

Hamilton moved back to Fort Worth while the others teamed up and travelled around together, gambling on poker, golf and, in Doyle's words, "just about everything". They pooled their money together for gambling and after six years,
they made their first serious trip to Las Vegas and lost all of it, a six-figure amount. They decided to stop playing as partners yet remain friends. But this is when Doyle fell in love with Vegas.
