Hey all,

Many poker players dream of participating in a 10K buyin event. But my thoughts are that the majority would lack the skill & experience in deep-stacked big buyin tournaments to do well without getting extremely lucky.

So giving away a 10K seat would be like a lottery ticket prize. I figured the WPT Battle For The Season Pass III would be much better because it offers:

-a week long tropical vacation in the Bahamas

-training from the pro's

-a shot at a 100K WPT Season Pass plus $10,000 cash

What are your thoughts? What would YOU prefer to win?

So... you can either win just $10K, or $10K + vacation + pro training. I don't see the point here.

That's like saying "do you want a $10 gift certificate to one certain store, or $100 cash?" duhhhhhhh

Not what I'm asking. I'm asking would you rather win:

A guaranteed $10,000 entry into a big buyin event that you have to play
(and there's no guarantee you'll win, but you have a shot at the cash prize pool from the other entrants, so a chance at a bigger cash win than the boot camp)

OR

A $4400 WPT Battle For The Season Pass entry that includes:

-a weeklong vacation in the Bahamas
-training from the pro's
-a chance at winning a 100K WPT Season Pass plus other prizes

Some people would rather take the chance and try to get lucky in a big buyin event, or they believe they are skilled enough to do well. Others would prefer the vacation, training and the shot at the other prizes.

I would take this one

So for those who'd rather take the 10K buyin (you would have to play it, you couldn't get the cash)

Why would you choose that over the WPT Season Pass III package? Do you already have experience in deep-stacked large buyin events? Do you not have that experience but think you'd have a good chance of cashing anyway?

I'm confused. This second option offers all those things PLUS 10k in cash? If so, I'd much prefer the second option as I can use the cash to buy in to the main event...

sigh.

The second option gets you into up to three different tournaments while you're @ the boot camp in the Bahamas. One of those tournaments is a 3-day Deep-stacked event where the grand prize is a 100K WPT Season Pass plus 10K in cash for expenses.

There are also other prizes to be won based on a $225,000+ prize pool for the various tournaments they hold:

18 WPT Buyins awarded worth 10-15K each
$21,000 in cash
4 WPT Boot Camp packages

That is based on 150 entrants into the event. So you aen't guaranteed any bonus cash in the thing, but you have a shot at a number of prizes.

They aren't as great as winning a million bucks at a WPT final table, but I think the boot camp would prepare most people better than if they were just thrown into a 10K event.

People work so much nowadays I figured a vacation on top of training from the pro's and a shot at some cool prizes would be the better and more responsible prize to offer up.

I'd take the vacation cos I wouldn't last longer than 1.4 hands in the ME.
