Thanks for chiming in Seany. I figured most people would love the vacation. Plus, if you get a 10K buyin there's no guarantee you'll sit with or play against any of the pro's.

With the boot camp option they had over 20 pro's last year, and you'll get lessons from them, be able to attend some VIP parties with them while you're in the Bahamas, etc.

I figured that would be a much cooler prize, even if it's roughly half the retail value of a big buyin.

I'd still love to hear from those who would prefer the 10K buyin they'd have to play. Do they have experience in big buyin events already? Do they just feel confident?

I've just always wanted to play a big live event. Plus I hear the play is bad.

I completely understand the desire to play a big buyin event. I just figured most players could benefit from the training the pro's who play those events frequently could provide, so that you can maximize your chances at victory.

And with the Battle for the Season Pass package you have a shot to be able to play TEN big buyin events! w00t!

While I admit I would be more likely to put 10K into cash games rather than a tournament myself, the "cash" isn't an option here.

The options are:

-one 10K seat into a tournament that cannot be sold/transferred/etc

-the boot camp with vacation, training & tournaments with prizes

Also, weddings are a waste of money in my opinion. You're much better off spending all the money you'd blow on a wedding on things for your home, paying off bills, etc.

Wife & I just did a justice of the peace and then a small get together with family & friends. I never understood people spending 8-10K or more for a wedding. I guess if you're loaded and have money to burn. But otherwise it seems like a waste to me.

I would also take the vacation due to my lack of experience in live play. I play a fairly strong game online so I would think that I would last a while in the tourney, but you never know if its anything like those 100K tourneys I would get donked out within the 1st day.
