Chip was in first televised poker event I ever watched, it was him against some internet hotshot i think, if I remember correctly. Remember seeing a lot of the big name pros saying he is the best NL Holdem Touranemnt player....only person who did not say it was Helmuth for obvious reasons.
Edit: Well it seems I am a donk and he was a cash player, maybe its just that i remember it that was ince it was a tourney he was in.
