What I'm saying with the "he sucks" is that he couldn't stand up to people like Negreanu, Ivey, or Brunson.

"Phil Hellmuth is the best poker tournament player that I have ever played against"
-Johnny Chan

Surely this has to mean he is half-decent?

Though I will admit he did do horribly on High Stakes Poker.

If I were him, I'd strive to be legendary. I'd try to build a record that people try to beat, but just can't seem to. It's possible NOW to do it. In the next 30 years, though, it's going to be very difficult to win enough bracelets to beat a record that he could set right now.
wtf are you talking about? He is already one of the best tourney players that ever existed. You think his skill is going to "tap out" or something? No way. He has been learning and adapting the same as everyone so IMO he will only get better. I think Helmuth will continue to win bracelets til he retires from poker permantely.

ok, seems the WSOP site displays different standings, not sure which one is more recent.

Anyways, read through some tournament updates, cant believe how poor the play is. Calling off all chips on a draw = standard
