Okay so I watched the NBC tournament for heads up no limit holdem. I thought I knew the rules to heads up but I thought wrong heres what i was baffled by.
Jamie gold vs Phil Gordon
anyways back on topic.
its heads up
jamie has ace,7
phil has pocket 7's
(heres what happend from memory might not be exact)
jamie was big blind i belive he bet out phil called.
flop comes low,low,7
jamie bets, phil reraises, jamie calls
turn lower then a 7
jamie bets phil pushes
jamie takes a long time to think "saying man I only have a pair of 7's........" kept makign comments like this and then phil says here if this helps you he flips over one of his 7's.
Is this legal?
Because I thought if your exposed your hand at anytime one people are still left to act your hand is automatically mucked.
Like by showing that card it affects what Jamie might effect the way jamie plays the hand.
But Jamie laid down the hand.
So whats up with this hand???

No no, this is perfectly legal from what I am. Jamie is notorious for his mouth! David Negraneau is allso known for throwing out reads in mid game. Sometimes you can use this to your advantage to get reads off of ppl. But I am not quite sure what is the deal with Hellmuth exposing one card. It's not technically his entire hand... so I am not sure about that one.

First, in HU, the small blind is button and first to act before the flop, last to act after flop.
Second, although it can be frowned upon, your hand is not dead if a card (or 2) is exposed as long is there are only 2 people left in the hand. Since it's head's up, there obv was no more than 2. That said, different tourneys can have different rules, and I'll bet Phil knew the rules for that tourney.
Not sure why Phil would have done this though... can't imagine how it helped himLast edited by Pinguaq; 05-04-2007 at 10:20 AM.

in wsop or WPT his hand would be pronounced dead, in NBC tourny, it is differen rules.
I would not do this if I was in a tourny unless I knew what the house rules were. So if you plan on doing it, make suer it is okey w/ the rules.I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.
