One of the favorites starting off in the third NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship may not have been actress Shannon Elizabeth, but she is hanging tough, making it to the final eight out of an opening feild of 64 players. Elizabeth, who made her breakthrough role in the teen comedy "American Pie", has been described as considering poker as a second career. As a poker player that was known as a celebrity first, such as Rene Angelil (Celine Dion’s husband) and Jennifer Tilly, Shannon Elizabeth has already accomplished what they could not in making it as deep as she has. The NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship will be broadcast on April 8th.
