High Stakes Poker
Why is the presentation so crappy?
They dont even tell the blinds or stack sizes of the participants and you have almost no chance of following the game.

The blinds are 300/600 with a 100 ante. Minimum buy in is $100,000
It's a cash game so the stack sizes are essentially however much the player has in their pocket...or whatever they may have on deposit at the casino, etc.
It's not like a tournament where when you loose your stack you're out.

I don't think having a constant update on the blinds is a big deal because they don't change but I do agree that we should be kept up to date on everyone's stack size. They should tell you how much they have and how much they're up/down.
Oh and FYI: new season starts June 5th.

That's not true Pok. They can only gamble with how much is on the table, so it makes a huge difference to the game.
For example I saw Daniel N call a $22k reraise with TT and then lay them down on the flop to a bet (he was correct - opponent had higher PP), but I was wondering whether this play had correct implied odds. Without knowing exactly how much his opponent's stack was, it is impossible to work this type of thing out.

They should at least update chip counts after each commercial break, like most other poker shows do. Also, with the different camera angles the show uses, its often difficult to tell where each players position is. I find myself thinking that player x is to the right of somebody until the action comes and he's to the left. Still a great show, though. Two thumbs up!

True you have a point there...You can also notice some instances of people playing SS vs. deep stack. Example Jerry Buss played few hands (usually bought in for 100K and pushed pretty hard when he hit) Where Daniel bought in for 1 mil and played alot of hands I think he had any 1 opponent covered at all times.
I was thinking more about the time DN busted Antonio Esfandiari for his whole stack (close to 100K) and he left the room and cam back reloaded, how it relates a little different to tournament play.

Yeah, I thought Sammy was very entertaining. His style of play was fun to watch.

I've been watching this show again and just can't understand how these pro's consistently make -EV plays.
E.g Daniel N called a $20k dollar raise from Bob Stupek who had $80k remaining (no implied odds there). (Edit: DN had 77 and it was the 1st hand Stupek played all night so DN must be putting him on AA/KK)
Todd Brunson called about 13k into 19k on 10 high flush draw on turn and didn't get paid off when hitting. Lots of players seemed to call potsize bets on draws.
Sammy Farha calling a raise with KTs and ending up losing to Todd Brunson's AK when hitting his K.
I understand players like Sammy Farha can maybe raise with crap hands in position and play profitably due to bluffing other players, but the decisions I list above (particularly DN's, can never be +EV).
