Day 3 of the WSOP tends to separate the contenders from the pretenders. With the money bubble approaching, tension getting high, and mental exhaustion setting in poker's top players tend to have not only an edge in skill, but also in nerves.
Some big names have been moving up the leader-board early on Day 3; most notably Phil Ivey... Who apparently wants to upstage Jeff Lisandro by capturing his 3rd bracelet this year, in the Main Event. Ivey has moved into the top 10 in chips early on Day 3.
Other big names accumulating chips are JC Tran, Kenny Tran, the aforementioned Jeff Lisandro, David Benyamine, Justin "zeejustin" Bonomo, Brian Lemke, Bertrand "eLKy" Grosspeiler, and Theo Tran.
Another recognizable name with a strong chip stack is actor Lou Diamond Phillips with almost 200k; about 10k more than last year's final table member, and namesake, Dennis Phillips.
With roughly 1/3 of the field still remaining, there is still a lot of poker to be played... But I'm sure Norman Chad's yearly Phil Ivey selection is giving the ESPN crew plenty of filler talk!
