Hi I am an american player, That has been playing on a web based client , I consider my self an ok player, I make bad calls sometimes but I want to step my game up and start making money, some things I am wanting to improve in my game are reading another player (online) , keeping good player notes, and good bankroll management. Also what are some good books to read that are good but some what dumbed down for a player who may not know all the terms and definitions used?

Hi gg allin,
I recommend Dan Harrington's book Harrington on Holdem to get you started, although he is most definately a tight player himself he understands other styles and talks you through them. I recommend also using your different colour notation to flag players weak strong tricky etc and to write their tendancies and card ranges down. Also do read up on card stats because these will give you loads more knowledge when you play. Many people do not know for instance that pairs in a ten handed often come out in twos or threes they go all in with their pair thinking at 1/14 chance of having them in the first place there aren't any more there but the truth is 40% and greater there is another pair out there when you have seen yours. Stats like these can make you more aware of what is happening and what is behind raises. Watch some online poker tutorial vids by pros and search the answers to the terms and learn them they will help you there are a lot of ways that people use these terms and stats to understand your play to get the edge on you so don't give away your edge by not knowing them yourself.

Definitely Doyle Brunon's Super System 2. There is a lot of pertinent beginner knowledge as well as some advanced concepts.
