Default Finished 78th out of 5400

Pretty decent result first night back playing a high entry $1 MTT.

    Didn't make any mistakes.

Villain was stealing my blinds and I shoved back with a shovable hand.

Was difficult to stay alive. Deck was cold and players all very loose and the ones to my left expecially happy to call with any two cards and lots of chips.

One pot that looked promising was KK against A6 but the Ace hit and soon after my QQ got called to the river with A4 who rivered a straight.

Shoved AQ with 5 limpers on 4k blinds which bought me a bit of life.

Not really a fan of that shove there. Nice run that was pretty deep!

What would you have done in that position?

Probably fold and wait for a better shove spot. You're a race at best and he already committed ~25% of his stack so your opponent wasn't going to fold. Did you want him to fold, or you wanted a race? What did you put him on (range)?

Ace something ... probably better than A rag. Not enough to warrant a call when I shoved back

If you put him on Ax, and he had 12xBB to begin with putting out 25% of the stack 3xBB. What makes you think hes going to fold there? So the answer is you were ok with a race Tough running into over pairs, but it does happen. Lesson learned eh?

His plan worked. He was hoping for a 3bet shove and you provided him that. with <15xBB if you are going to play the hands its an automatic shove. He didn't shove in that position so that means hes got more of a legit hand.
