I don't care what anyone says I now firmly believe that you put as little miney as possible into a pot until you know you have the nuts.
Sure you can go by the theory that "in the long run" betting ahead pays.
But early in MTT's with multiple callers your monster is never ahead.
Checking and calling your suited connectors and small pockets waiting to hit is giving better results.
Proper poker in these tournaments doesn't begin until the second hours and seeing a lot of cheap hands waiting to hit your set or flush is def the go.
Most of these players don't even care that there is a flush board and ignore paired boards too giving you massive value with a full house if they flush/straight.

Early on in micro stakes MTT

Nitting up is probably the best and easiest way to win, especially in MTTs. Not the most fun or probably "best" way to play, but it works pretty well. Most of MTTs are preflop+flop play only, and by always starting out with a strong hand selection you will almost always be ahead.
Also, you may be betting with hands that may benefit from pot control and possibly best played passively, thinking about your J7s hand.

Played 6 or so games just calling and checking til I got the nuts.
Mainly 45 and 90 playey 25c Sit'nGo.
Finished ahead marginally.
Won a 90 player SNG and won it easily. Got my stack doubling when I hit the nuts and not losing too many chips to suckouts.

For the first half hours with the cheap blinds I flat call AK to 34s. AA KK I'll still attack.
Then its nit after that for the next hour or so until the blinds factor into it and I have to start stealing my share.

I should clarify that I will raise late if the table has folded to me
