I quite often see ** players but not *** very often at the stakes I play on poker stars.
I beat him on both tables but it was a whole different game of poker.
Normally I just play standard TAG and more often than not it sees me into the last five and ITM.
It's my bread and butter game and pays for my MTT's.
This guy was different though.
He played a lot of hands and was min raising a lot and then c-betting to take down pot after pot.
I thought "I can trap this guy". But for him I really had to focus on the game like never before.
If he wasn't in the pot I would bet small if I hit top pair and then check through if called and hope the hand would play out to the river.
Again if I missed I would check and hope a few of these hands would get checked to the river.
I wanted him to see thaT I bet if I hit and check/folded if I missed.
If I was on a monster I would raise big and reraise any bet agaisnt so it became totally obvious.
You can see what image I wanted to present to him.
It worked to. I would fold to him if I had nothing and reraise him if I had something big. The money for jam was that I was able to bluff back at him occassionally too.
This meant I was winning more pots and money off him than the quality of my cards alone warranted.
He eventually busted out against others but gave me a lot of chips before he did.
Really enjoyed it.

Just because someone plays a lot of poker, or commonly plays high stakes doesn't make them good

Neither does someone not having pretty stars, I've played with guys who would go on breaks, then laugh about "repping their bronzestars".
I only made it to silverstar myself. Learning to cook for a living and time commitments having a kid&family make it hard to play a lot of poker.
If you wanna play HU for play money on stars sometime I'm for it (From the US so no $$$ anymore).
