Default New to the site, give me quick advice and welcome!

    Hey all,

I've been following this site for about a week and like how a lot of the members seem pretty close nit. I am not new to poker but just this year began taking it very seriously. I need some advice. Just the other day i put 50 on bodog and got it up to $1050 in about 2 days. Me being the stupid 21 year old I am kepy playing and lost it all. Has anyone else found themselves in a stupid situation like this?

I wish I found myself in that situation (winning $1,000 in two days lol)

    Advice, Bankroll Management.

Only buy in 50-100BB, always have 40 buy ins in the bank.

lol, I wish i was smart enough to leave! I am debating whether or not i got lucky. I was playing a lot of 20 - 50 dollar heads up sit n gos. Then I played a $100 match and won so I was at about $250. I decided since I made it so quick I'd sit down at a 2-4NL heads up table and was playing and kept winning winning and winning. I actually made a bluff for about $650 which was crazy to me. Got up to 1050. Was going to back out at $1100 but i never got there. Insane.

Yea, i totally know. My need to play atleast $20 heads up tourneys (if i play those). Anything lower just seem to have people that really don't know how to play heads up.

If you want to play $20 HU, you need $600 BR.

Poker is a long term grind. Yeah, you can win 1000 bucks in 2 days playing higher stakes, but because of variance, if you don't have the bankroll to be playing at those levels, you will lose it all. You need to manage a bankroll. If you deposit 100 bucks, I would suggest playing $5 sngs/5nl, and build that BR up to $200-$300 before moving up to $10 sngs/10NL.
