Hi,
So I'm somewhat new to poker and have a couple questions.
If there is a flush on the board and I have no suited hole cards and my opponent doesn't either will he win the hand due to his higher, off suit kicker or is it split since its on the board?
Board Example:![]()

Also, if I as well as my opponent have a set of 7's, one in each of our hands and then a pair on the board is that a split pot due to the pair being on the board instead in either of our hands or will that come down to who has the higher kicker?
Board Example:

Thanks for any help anyone can provide,
John

You play best 5 cards out of the 7 available for you. 5 exactly, no more and no less. If you use 5 for a flush, there is no kicker, since you only use 5 cards.
So, first hand is split because you both play the exact same flush using the board cards. Need all 5 cards to make flush so neither of you use a hole card.
Second hand you have

, opponent has

, since his 10 beats your 9, he wins
