Is there ever a hand that you should just toss out preflop, or do i need to give every hand at least a little bit of a chance?

I only play about 15% of hands on a full ring table

And I probably play around 10-15% of starting hands. You should be folding almost all hands in early position, and open up your calling range as you get into later position.
If you want to lose a lot of money in the long run, play a lot of hands. Be a lot more selective of what you play with, especially if you are just starting out.Well over $300,000 free every month in 2011 with freerolls, rake races, and rake chases!
www.RakeGuard.com has the highest rakeback percentages available.
RakeGuard...more than just rakeback.

It also depends on the opponents , always adjust your style to the game . Against unknown tight-aggressive is best to start and adjust later (my own experience ) , I know some players that give up easily on flop if they missed and outplaying them for smaller pots will pay on the long run .

As you are still a beginner I suggest you fold most hands preflop. Play with only the 10 best starting hands in poker. AA AK KK etc...
