I find myself quite often in tournaments that when it gets down to the last few people..every hand is either all fold or all in. There is no actually playing the hand..its one or the other. I have tried waiting for monters, but AA, AKs almost always get beat out. I hate having to bet everything on hole cards.
So how do you go about combating this?? Any suggestions?
thanks!

How to combat all-in people

When you get to less than ~8 big blinds it becomes correct to shove every time you are the small blind. You simply have to call them down lighter and take the risk.
The reason they are doing this so correctly is because you don't want to call them, as you are risk averse having gone so far in a tournement, so they take your blinds.
Start also being the one to push all in and have them fold when you have less than 8 big blinds and are the SB/BTN/CO. Start calling 4-5bb shoves from the SB/BTN/CO with KJ+ AT+ 77+.
Good luck.

I wouldn't say all luck...since knowing your fold equity makes being first to shove a powerful weapon many fish don't know about.

I guess it also comes down to the level of the blinds ( as in the 8x blind idea from 22Fish)
I was playing a pc poker games and the blinds were 1 and 2 million ! (level 38)
so even with 16mill (which is ~24% of the total cash 66mill) you would already be looking
to go all in quite easily (any A imo) ... just my 5c

p.s and the sructure of the blinds .... if they go up every 15mins or every 1hr , the longer periods will give you a better chance of catching a good hand = less risk , the shorter = more risk ...
