well, just like all before me I've decided to start out about a month ago playing real cash poker online.
I have seen countless videos, articles, played with friends and won mostly and since i have entered the real world of poker I have lost an horrendous amount.
Why?
Because I suck at BR management
yes I want things to happen fast, yes I want to grind quickly and I sometimes refuse to follow the ABCs and that puts me in a hole.
Now, as to my question though it is quite obviously a stupid one and I will take mockery as I deserve it (english not my first language so forgive me if I misspell or whatever.)
When you guys started winning, after understanding the ABCs, multitabeling (most I can do without going crazy at the moment is 3-4) and playing the good ol tight aggressive fundamentals, how long did it take you to start showing good profits?
How long has it taken you guys to escape the .01/.02 - .05/.10 threshold
my goal is to average out at about 10$/hour in the shortrun btw
as there's no clear cut answer I'd love to hear personal stories and advice.
Thank you.

You can read my blog at http://100kplayingonlinepoker.blogspot.com/ to see just how much I lost to start out with. Anyway, to answer your question, there really isn't a clear cut answer as you stated. I personally didn't start at such low tables, I started at .25/.50 and played only 6-handed tables. I think mostly you answered your own question when you said you are trying to get there too fast. The keys are patience and then patience, oh and did I happen to mention patience. I personally couldn't play at those levels though because people, in my opinion, don't play with any common sense. The stakes are so low it is as if it seems to turn into an all-in fest much of the time. Good luck to you and I wish you all the best.

I'm currently grinding the 02-05 cent tables on FT, and about to move up to 05-10 cent, steadily working up the BR. I don't play more than 3-4 hours a day and I've worked up a 20 buck deposit into a 200+ BR in about 2 months of playtime or so. I'm sure most could do it faster, but I follow the Chris Ferguson Law and never put more than 5% of my BR in play haha. I'd recommend giving that a try to help out your BR management woes.

Google is your friend
. Use it! Just type: "poker bankroll management" and you find a lot of great article. Bankroll management depends on the gametype and the limit.
First of all: What are you playing? texas hold'em FL, NL? heads-up? 6max? fullring? This is really important, because if you play 6max, then you need much bigger bankroll.(30-40 buy-ins and more above NL50 or NL100)YourPokerCash Free poker bankrolls, rake races, freerolls
