    Default Advice on Deposit Bonuses/Rakeback

Hi everyone. I've been thinking of getting into online poker for a while now, as the chance to play a game I enjoy and make money at the same time is too good to resist, but I want to get as much information and resources as possible before starting.

I've read up on what online poker is like and I think I'm ready to get my feet wet, but I still have some questions regarding a few things, in particular deposit bonuses and rakeback.

After searching around some I've found quite a few sites that offer an index to rakeback and deposit bonuses, (bonuswhores etc) but what I want to know is, which site gives me the most current information? There seem to be literally hundreds of offers and bonuses flying around, and to be honest I'm quite bewildered.

Some things I'm not 100% clear about, even after searching on the sites themselves :

    1. Are you eligible for rakeback as well as reload/deposit bonuses at the same time?

    2. If you register for one promotion, (for example, a no deposit bonus) does it disqualify you from the others? Or is this site dependent?

I'm also concerned that I may be going about this the wrong way...I don't have a lot of money to spend on online poker at the moment, so my current plan is to grind it up from the microlimits as well as gaining experience that way. Trouble is, I'm not sure if getting the no deposit bonus on certain sites would disqualify me from getting any other bonuses (hence the question above) and I don't want to screw myself before I've even started.

I have searched about some trying to find more info, but as you can probably tell I am kind of new to this, so any advice from more experienced players would be very much appreciated.

    Hey,

I would like to offer you some advice regarding bonus hunting.

There are two things to look for when signing up at a poker site. The first is does the site offer rakeback, and the second is are there any kickbacks that you can get for signing up.

Rakeback allows you to get up to 50% of the rake you pay to the site back, depending on the site. If you don't sign up through a rakeback affiliate, you will never be able to get it for that site, however. This can be huge. I rake about $1000 a month, and getting 33% Rakeback at CakePoker means that I get ~$330 back each month. It is super important when you play a lot. To see which sites offer rakeback a quick google search will suffice.

For sites that don't offer rakeback, you should look for kickback bonuses. Kickbacks are offered when you sign up for a site though another site, which then gives you an addition bonus for using their links. Some sites will give you up to $150 per site. When that is added to the bonus you get from the site, it makes hunting bonuses very profitable. I have used boogster for this many times and have been very happy with them. Pokersavvy, Pokersource and regalos are good sites as well.

Hope this helps. You need to make sure you take advantage of both the bonus from the site and the bonuses available through referral services. Good Luck!

How micro of limits are you looking at? If you don't mind playing $.01/$.02 NL, $50 is a good deposit. I wouldn't start any lower than that, though...
