I was playing in a game last night and was short stacked, so I pushed all in on a weak hand, J7 off. The flops comes up Ace, 10, King, giving my caller two pair with aces and tens. I tossed my cards up in the air and they landed where the mucked cards were, still face up. It turns out my hand ended up with a straight. However, this guy called my hand mucked since it hit the muck pile. Having researched around, it's looking as if I still won the hand anyways because the cards were never turned face down.
Should I have still won the hand anyways?

In the future never throw your hand away. I mean you might seem down and out but you still had outs, likes the Q(i don't remember what you needed for the straight) 2 7s or 2 JavaScript. But yeah, if it was a casino I think your hand would be dead, but I just depends on the rules for your game.

Any cards hitting the muck pile (up or down) are dead. Never seen it different at any casino.
